WDM (World Development Movement) Pub Meeting Sheffield
WDM is a national organization that tackles the underlying causes of world poverty, lobbies decision makers to change the policies that keep people poor, researches and promotes positive alternatives. It works alongside people in the developing world, who are standing up to injustice.
Sheffield WDM campaigns locally, lobbys MPs, organises public meetings, publishes a local newsletter, does street actions and has stalls at fairs and festivals around Sheffield. The WDM pub group is part of WDM in Sheffield and this website focuses on the pub group and the actions, etc we are involved in. Click here for the more general Sheffield WDM website.
The pub group is an enthusiastic and welcoming group meeting once a month. What we do is pretty flexible and might include talking about issues we want to understand better, thinking about what we can do in our own lives/community/work, writing a few letters, planning actions or events or anything else we want. If you want to get more involved but not come to the pub group regularly, maybe you're interested in specific actions or can't make Monday evenings or don't like pubs then let us know, as there are lots of ways to get involved.
2nd Monday every month, 8-10pm, The Red Deer, Sheffield Pub details
Next Meeting: Mon 8th Feb
